Pasig City- The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) officially welcomed its tenth President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Majah-Leah V. Ravago, during a turnover ceremony held at its Pasig office on February 12, 2024.

Outgoing DAP President and CEO, Atty. Engelbert C. Caronan, Jr., passed the torch, symbolized by the DAP Flag, to President Ravago to represent the passing of leadership and management to the new leader.

The event was also attended by National Economic and Development Agency (NEDA) Secretary and DAP Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairperson Arsenio M. Balisacan, and DAP officers and employees led by Senior Vice President for Programs, Magdalena L. Mendoza; Senior Vice President for Services, Monina A.R. de Armas; and Graduate School of Public and Development Management Dean, Dr. Lizan Perante-Calina.

President Ravago, who was elected by the BOT as the institution’s new leader on February 8, called for the support and cooperation of the organization’s staff to bring “DAP to new and greater heights.”

“I call upon the cooperation of each of you to be catalysts of positive change…Together, let us write a new chapter for the Development Academy of the Philippines-one filled with innovation, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to making development work for the Filipinos and the Bagong Pilipinas,” she said in her message.

She also emphasized and reiterated the DAP’s mandate to support the nation’s development by stating that the institution’s “collective commitment to development agenda is not just a goal, but a shared vision towards the AmBisyon 2040 of matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay.”

As an attached agency of the NEDA for policy and program coordination, the DAP is expected to further align its initiatives in support of the implementation of the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.

The ceremony commenced with a meet and greet session where employees were able to directly engage and got acquainted with President Ravago.
