Tagaytay City— The Development Academy of the Philippines welcomed 38 new scholars of the Public Management and Development Program’s (PMDP) Middle Managers Class (MMC) Batch 10 on September 5, 2015 at the DAP Conference Center (DAPCC) in Tagaytay City.
The scholars, who came from different government agencies, went through a rigorous process prior to getting accepted to the program. They will undergo a residential training for five months at DAPCC with lectures and sessions from esteemed PMDP faculty and eminent individuals.
In his keynote address, former Senator Orlando Mercado, Secretary-General of the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA), emphasized the importance of learning and shared his journey as a public servant, broadcaster, and mentor. He also said discipline and empathy are necessary to succeed in one’s chosen field. “I made the right decision and I let history judge me for what I did,” he said as he ended his message for the scholars.
DAP President Antonio D. Kalaw, Jr. delivered the opening remarks and reiterated DAP’s functions in nation building and development.
