Bangkok, Thailand—The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), in its capacity as the National Productivity Organization (NPO) for the Philippines, bolstered its commitment to advancing productivity standards by participating in the Training Course for Assessors of the APO Certification Bodies. The event, held from November 25 to 29, 2024, was jointly organized by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Secretariat and the Thailand Productivity Institute.
The specialized training aimed to equip participants with the expertise required to serve as qualified assessors for APO Accreditation Bodies. The four-day program emphasized international standards such as the APO-AB 1003:2020 General Requirements for Certification Bodies: Certification of Persons Schemes and the APO-AB 4001:2020 Procedure for Accreditation of Certification Bodies. Participants were immersed in advanced assessment techniques and accreditation protocols designed to establish a harmonized and robust framework for certification processes.
Representing DAP were Catherine Luzuriaga from the Corporate Operations and Strategy Management Office and Aileen Ricohermoso from the Productivity Development Center. Their involvement underscores DAP’s unwavering dedication to enhancing productivity, maintaining rigorous assessment standards, and fostering excellence in certification practices.
The training also provided an avenue for knowledge-sharing and collaboration among productivity organizations across APO member economies. By equipping assessors with the tools and insights to align with global best practices, the initiative strengthens regional efforts to drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in public and private sector operations.
Through its active participation in international initiatives such as this, DAP continues to play a critical role in shaping the Philippines’ productivity agenda and contributing to the broader goals of the APO in building a competitive and progressive Asia-Pacific region.
