The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through its Productivity and Development Center, will launch the 2024 Modernizing Government Regulations Program Regulatory Review on September 30, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. This hybrid event will take place virtually via Zoom and in-person at the DAP Building, Pasig City.

The Regulatory Review Launch aims to tackle key regulatory issues affecting critical sectors, including Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facilities and the Water Utility industry. Expert speakers– Dr. Casper Agaton and Atty. Mark Anthony Gamboa– will offer valuable insights on existing regulations on these industries. The event also provides a platform for networking among professionals, policymakers, and thought leaders.

The MGRP is a regulatory reform initiative that seeks to enhance national productivity and competitiveness by addressing burdensome regulations that impede business and economic growth. It focuses on streamlining Government-to-Business (G2B), Government-to-Government (G2G), and Government-to-Citizen (G2C) transactions. The program fosters collaboration among public and private sectors, civil society, and the academe to drive effective regulatory reforms.

The DAP invites government officials, industry leaders, civil society organizations, and academic professionals to participate in this important event. Their input will be crucial in shaping the next phase of the regulatory review reforms, which aim to enhance productivity and competitiveness in the priority industries while ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of basic social services through streamlined regulatory processes and improved regulatory governance.
