May 8, 2023 – The Development Academy of the Philippines through its regional office, DAP sa Mindanao (DsM) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lenovo Philippines, DFNN, Inc., Ideacorp, Inc., Mindanao State University Tawi Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography, Mindanao State University Maguindanao, Intelimina Systems, Inc., and KaISIPan, at the DAP Pasig City. This partnership is part of the Digital Transformation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Education Project.
Signatories to the MOU were DAP President Atty. Engelbert C. Caronan, Jr., MNSA, Sharon Maraguinot of Lenovo Philippines, DFNN, Inc. Chief Operating Officer Ricardo Banaag, Dr. Emmanuel C. Lallana, Chief Executive of Ideacorp, Inc., MSU Tawi Tawi Chancelllor Dr. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, MSU Maguinadanao Chancellor, Dr. Bai Hejira Nefertiti Sinsuat Macalandong-Limbona, Deng Silorio, Chief Executive of Intelimina Systems, Inc., and Board Secretary of KaISIPan Antonette Torres.
As part of the partnership, Lenovo Philippines donated laptops to the two universities, while DFNN, Inc. and Ideacorp, Inc., donated Starlink Devices.
In his opening remarks, Caronan reiterated that one of the roles of the DAP is to serve as an environment by which other institutions can be linked; because sometimes solutions come not from individual technologies but from a set or a group of linkages between and among institutions.
On the other hand, Chancellor Macalandong-Limbona expressed her gratitude to the new partners, stating that this partnership will allow MUS Maguindanao to participate in a global network and strengthen their services to their students.
Further, Chancellor Guinto-Sali extended her appreciation as this collaboration will bring valuable support to their university.
Lastly, DsM Managing Director Mark Lemuel L. Garcia underscored that DAP should be where developmental forces are at work, so DAP will be there to support and extend other services to BARMM.
