The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), recently reconstituted its Academic Council (AC), welcoming new members, Dr. Alex B. Brillantes, Jr., Dr. Emmanuel F. Esguerra, Dr. Christopher P. Monterola, and Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo at a meeting held on October 29, 2024 at the DAP headquarters in Pasig City. DAP President and CEO, Dr. Majah-Leah V. Ravago, alongside AC Secretariat Head, Dr. Chester B. Cabalza, presided over the gathering.

In this inaugural session, the Council, including continuing members DAP Dean Lizan E. Perante-Calina, and DAP SVP for Programs Magdalena L. Mendoza, discussed updates to the AC’s Internal Rules and alignment with the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028. DAP Vice President Nanette C. Caparros also proposed introducing a Digital Transformation Module in the Public Management and Development Program for Middle Managers.

A Special Dinner followed, celebrating members’ expertise and dedication. Dr. Ravago recognized former SVP for Services Monina Agrifina De Armas for her years as Head of the AC Secretariat, along with outgoing members Dr. Maria Lourdes G. Rebullida, Dr. Orlando S. Mercado, Dr. Eduardo T. Gonzales, and Austere A. Panadero, for their service.

As DAP’s highest academic body, the AC continues to uphold standards for graduate programs and training, driving DAP’s mission to foster inclusive and transformative development.
