Jakarta, Indonesia – Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) President and CEO, Dr. Majah-Leah V. Ravago, emphasized the need for resilient energy infrastructure at the Sustainable Development for Thriving Communities (SDTC) Conference on September 24–25, 2024, at Monash University BSD Campus.
Presenting her paper, “The Ripple Effect: Power Prices and Disruption in Grid Transmission,” Dr. Ravago highlighted the vulnerability of the Philippine power system during natural disasters and called for investments in transmission infrastructure to stabilize prices and ensure energy security amid climate change.
The conference, hosted by the Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability (CDES) in collaboration with Monash University Malaysia, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), brought together global experts to address sustainable development challenges. Dr. Ravago’s participation reaffirms DAP’s commitment to advancing sustainable solutions for the Philippines and beyond.
