The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through the Public Management Development Program-Local Government Executives and Managers Class (PMDP-LGEMC) and in collaboration with the Center for Strategic Futures (CSF), conducted the AI 101: Foundations of Artificial Intelligence (AI 101) for the Philippine Public Sector for the LGEMC Batch 20 on August 4, 2026.
The foundational course was integrated in the PMDP-LGEMC curriculum as part of DAP’s commitment to the National Capability-Building Program on AI, with the aim of strengthening the AI literacy and readiness for public sector innovation of the scholars. Designed specifically for non-technical users, it introduces basic AI concepts, practical government use cases, responsible and ethical AI use, prompt writing, and critical evaluation of AI outputs and their application to everyday public sector tasks.
By integrating AI foundational knowledge into the learning journey of PMDP-LGEMC Batch 20, DAP continues to strengthen the program’s focus on adaptability, innovation, and continuous learning—essential competencies for responsive, future-ready, and transformative local government leadership.
