December 11, 2024—The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through its Graduate School of Public and Development Management (GSPDM), marked a significant milestone as it honored the achievements of 18 scholars from Batch 4 of the Master in Public Management (MPM) program. The Closing Program was held at the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City, celebrating the scholars’ transformative journey in public sector leadership and governance.
Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina, Dean of DAP-GSPDM, highlighted the remarkable academic growth of the scholars during her program overview, emphasizing the importance of their degree in addressing complex public service challenges. The event was graced by keynote speaker Mr. Dante Roberto P. Maling, Deputy Secretary General of the House of Representatives, who delivered an inspiring message. He urged the scholars to rise beyond being spectators and take active roles as change-makers, embodying the House of Representatives’ mission to be truly a “House of the People.”
A highlight of the program was the recognition of seven scholars who received Special Citations for their Master’s Theses. These Action Plans and Projects were designed to address critical issues within their respective organizations, demonstrating the scholars’ commitment to innovative and impactful public service.
In her class response, Batch Representative Ms. Marie Loraine Ayson-Inton reflected on their challenging yet rewarding academic journey, urging her fellow scholars to continue their mission of effecting meaningful change as public managers.
This batch is the second cohort funded by the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), reflecting the government’s support for the DAP’s academic initiatives aimed at enhancing public service capabilities. The scholars are set to officially graduate at the One DAP Graduation Ceremony in January 2025.
