The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), in partnership with the National Youth Commission (NYC), successfully conducted the
Course on Managing Local Projects for the Youth Sector on March 11 to 13, 2025, at the L.S. Virata Hall, DAP Building, Pasig City.

Organized by DAP’s Center for Governance – Local Governance Development Office (CFG-LGDO), the three-day course trained 34 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials and Local Youth Development Officers (LYDOs) from 21 barangays across various cities, municipalities, and provinces nationwide. The course focused on strengthening their competencies in designing, managing, and implementing youth-oriented projects that are sustainable, inclusive, and aligned with their core mandates.Hon. Carol Julianne F. Dalipe, SK National Representative, delivered the closing remarks on behalf of the NYC, emphasizing the importance of investing in youth capacity-building to ensure responsive and meaningful governance. She commended the DAP for its significant role in nurturing young leaders and equipping them with practical tools to translate their advocacies into action.

DAP’s engagement forms part of its role as a member of the Steering Committee tasked to design and deliver the  mandatory  continuing training programs for SK Officials and the Local Youth Development Council, as mandated by the SK Reform Act of 2015 (RA 10742), as amended by RA 11768

Through initiatives like this, DAP reaffirms its commitment to empowering the next generation of public servants and shaping a more productive, youth-driven future.
