Tagaytay City, Philippines—The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through its Graduate School of Public and Development Management, marked another milestone in strengthening public health governance with the successful completion of the Certificate Course on Strategic Health Communication Governance (CC SHCG) Batch 5.
The four-day course equipped 23 healthcare workers from the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Region 1 and three educators from Department of Education (DepEd) Region 1 with essential knowledge and practical skills in human-centered strategic communication — empowering them in driving impactful public health initiatives.
The program conducted under the guidance of the Department of Health-Health Promotion Bureau (DOH-HPB), with expert input from a World Health Organization (WHO) specialist. Participants were trained to design high-impact, audience-tailored health communication plans. They also honed their communication skills to address pressing public health challenges in their respective institutions.
Completing the program earns participants three academic units credited toward the Master in Public Management major in Health Systems and Development (MPM HSD) or the MPM HSDHA, a specialized track designed for hospital administrators.
The program stands as a testament to DAP’s unwavering commitment to nurturing communication leaders in public health. By empowering a new generation of health managers to champion strategic and people-centered communication, the DAP contributes to the collective goal of building a healthier and more informed nation.
