Pasig City, Philippines—In a landmark move to elevate educational leadership, governance, and future-readiness, the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) have formalized a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the DepEd Central Office.
DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara and DAP President and CEO Majah-Leah Ravago, PhD led the ceremonial signing, solidifying their institutions’ commitment to advancing education reform and strengthening public-sector capabilities. The event was attended by key officers from both agencies.
Under this collaboration, the DAP will provide technical assistance in establishing a permanent Secretariat for the Philippine Qualifications Framework-National Coordinating Council, institutionalizing foresight and future thinking within DepEd, and enhancing the leadership and management skills of DepEd personnel through targeted capacity-building programs.
In his remarks, Secretary Angara lauded the DAP as a key partner in shaping an effective and inclusive education system, emphasizing that this initiative will contribute to long-term educational transformation. Meanwhile, Dr. Ravago reaffirmed that education is the foundation of national progress, and the DAP remains committed to supporting DepEd in ensuring quality learning for all Filipinos.
