The Development Academy of the Philippines, through its Center for Governance (CFG), concluded the second run of the course on monitoring and evaluation for the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) last July 25-27 at the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City.

The course was participated in by a total of 75 DOST planning officers and staffers from the head and regional offices as well as DOST’s attached agencies, including 36 participants in the first run of the course, which aimed at equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

The course involved lectures and practical application of the concepts and principles of M&E in the form of discussions, small group workshops, and structured learning exercises, which were facilitated by Wilfredo de Perio of the National Economic and Development Authority, Dr. Jalton Taguibao of the University of the Philippines-Diliman,  Dr.  Josefina Almeda of the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute, Peter Dan Baon of the DAP-CFG Operations Management Office, Jansen M. Mayor and Adelina H. Velasco.

The second batch of the course consisted of 39 participants from the DOST central office as well as attached agencies like the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development, the Philippine Council for   Industry,   Energy   and   Emerging    Technology Research and Development, the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, the National Research Council of the Philippines, the National Academy of Science and Technology, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the Philippine Science High School, the Science Education Institute, the Technology Application and Promotion Institute, and the Science and Technology Information Institute.
