Quezon City, Philippines—On 26 June 2025, Senior Vice President Magdalena Mendoza, Officer-In-Charge of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) presented the Academy’s institutional charter, mandates, and key programs during a press conference organized by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), held at the PIA Auditorium.
Joining SVP Mendoza were Dean of the DAP Graduate School of Public and Development Management (GSPDM), Dr. Lizan Perante-Calina; Vice President for the Center for Governance Imelda Caluen; and Vice President for the Center for CES Development Nanette Caparros.
In her opening remarks, SVP Mendoza highlighted the DAP’s 52nd Founding Anniversary, celebrated on 23 June 2025, underscoring the institution’s enduring commitment to strengthening public sector capacity, fostering innovation, and enabling meaningful change across government institutions.
She also announced that DAP, as the National Productivity Organization (NPO) of the Philippines, has officially been accredited by the Asian Productivity Organization as the country’s National Certification Body for Productivity Specialists.
The press conference featured an overview of the DAP’s flagship programs, including the Public Management Development Program, the GSPDM Graduate and Research Programs, the Capability Building on Innovative Leadership for Legislative Staff, the Modernizing Government Regulations Program, and the Government Quality Management Program. SVP Mendoza also provided updates on DAP’s implementation of the Presidential directive to lead capability development on Artificial Intelligence.
The event concluded with messages from DAP officials, encouraging public servants to remain steadfast in building their competencies, promoting good governance, and advancing bureaucratic efficiency.
