The Development Academy of the Philippines, through its Productivity and Development Center (PDC), takes pride in having provided technical assistance to some 39 government agencies that successfully developed, expanded, and transitioned their respective Quality Management System (QMS) certifiable to ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The DAP, being the country’s National Productivity Organization and a member of the Technical Working Group on Advocacy and Capability-Building of the Government Quality Management Committee, provides training and technical assistance on various productivity and quality improvement approaches interventions to government agencies.

In 2018, the following agencies assisted by the DAP were awarded certification to ISO 9001:2015 QMS: Bases Conversion Development Authority; Bureau of Corrections; Bureau of Immigration; Cavite State University; Central Philippine State University; Department of Energy, Governance Commission for GOCCs;  Department of Foreign Affairs; Kalinga State University; Light Rail Transit Authority; Local Government Unit of Bacnotan; Local Government Unit of Quezon City;  Mabalacat City Water District; Metropolitan Manila Development Authority; National Commission for the Culture and the Arts; National Defense College of the Philippines; National Historical Commission of the Philippines; National Irrigation Administration; National Library of the Philippines; National Mapping and Resource Information Authority; National Meat Inspection Service;  National Tax Research Center; National Telecommunications Commission-Region3; National Tobacco Administration; National Water Regulation Board; Optical Media Board; Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff; Parole and Probation Administration; Philippine Army-Office of the Army Adjutant; Philippine Health Insurance Corporation: Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology; Philippine Reclamation Authority: Philippine Statistics Authority:  PNOC Exploration Corporation; Presidential Commission on Good Governance; Public Attorney’s Office;  Social Housing Finance CorporationTariff Commission; and, University of Northern Philippines.

The journey of these agencies—particularly their respective officers, QMS core team, and employees—to ISO 9001 certification required hard work and dedication in seeing through the development, documentation, and implementation of QMS activities even as they continued to carry out their regular functions to fulfill their mandates.  To them, achieving ISO certification translated into a visible commitment to achieve excellence, a resolve that they took earnestly.

The certification of these agencies serves as a “seal of quality”, that they are implementing an internationally-recognized standard, which seeks to strive for continual improvement, resulting to higher level of effectiveness, efficiency,  and credibility in public service delivery.

DAP, as their program partner, is eager to see these ISO certified government agencies soar higher as they sustain their ISO certification and continue to build a culture of quality and productivity in the government to enhance citizen satisfaction.
