The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through its Modernizing Government Regulations Program (MGRP), will conduct the 2025 MGRP Regulatory Review Launch on Thursday, 30 October 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. via Zoom. To join, register here: https://bit.ly/2025RRLaunch
The event will formally introduce the regulatory review activities for 2025, which aim to identify, assess, and address burdensome or problematic regulations affecting government-to-business (G2B) and government-to-citizen (G2C) transactions. Implemented by the DAP under the guidance of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), the MGRP seeks to improve national productivity and competitiveness by strengthening regulatory quality, coherence, and efficiency across sectors.
For 2025, the MGRP will focus on the following priority sectors and industries:
Government-to-Business (G2B) Transactions
- Pharmaceutical Industry
- Semiconductors and Electronics Industry
- Small-Scale Boatbuilding Industry
- Telecommunications Industry
Government-to-Citizen (G2C) Transactions
- Filipino Migrant Labor Sector
The Regulatory Review Launch aims to present an overview of these sectors, including preliminary findings on problematic or burdensome regulations identified by the DAP study teams. It will also serve as a consultation platform for stakeholders such as industry representatives, civil society groups, academe, and regulatory agencies to share insights and feedback that will refine the study teams’ research direction and priorities.
The program will feature presentations from the Research Fellows of the respective sectors. Breakout sessions will likewise be conducted to allow participants to discuss sector-specific regulatory issues and offer practical recommendations for reform.
