Pasay City, Philippines—The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), through its Graduate School of Public and Development Management (GSPDM), conducted the Program Integration of the Certificate in Public Management (CPM) in partnership with the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) Batch 1, on June 18, 2025 at the FSI Headquarters.
The Program Integration served as a culminating platform for co-learners to synthesize the knowledge and competencies gained across the program’s core courses. It also provided an opportunity to reflect on their learning journey, share insights, and assess the program’s overall impact.
In her keynote presentation titled “Futures Thinking in Extension: Fostering Resilient Communities in a Changing World,” GSPDM Dean Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina underscored the importance of applying foresight and futures thinking in shaping foreign relations and global solutions. She challenged the co-learners to envision the Philippines’ international engagements in 2050 and beyond, emphasizing that futures-ready communities are built through futures-ready initiatives.
Meanwhile, Director Evelyn Katigbak of the Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy, reflected on the origins of the DAP-FSI partnership and reminded the co-learners that their training goes beyond personal development—it is ultimately in service of the nation. She also highlighted that embracing futures thinking requires mindful action in the present and seizing every opportunity to learn and lead.
A retrospective video presented by Learning Manager Jeck Gabriel Ruiz and Learning Associate Trey Sison captured the co-learners’ journey through the program, featuring highlights of key milestones, interactive sessions, and engagements with experts and practitioners.
The event concluded with the Program Integration Workshop, where co-learners shared their reflections, discussed personal and professional growth, and provided suggestions to enhance the program for future batches.
Through its continuing partnership with the FSI, the DAP reaffirms its commitment to strengthening public sector leadership and advancing both local and international development.
