The Development Academy of the Philippines, through its Graduate School of Public and Development Management (DAP-GSPDM), conducted a two-day workshop on Quality Assurance towards Internalization on May 28 to 29, 2025, at the Wynwood Hotel in Pasig City.
The workshop was attended by DAP-GSPDM program managers, learning managers, and administrative officers and featured experts in accreditation and quality assurance as resource persons.
In her opening remarks, DAP-GSPDM Dean Lizan Perante-Calina expressed her optimism about the school’s pursuit of regional and global accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Public Management. This was followed by an introduction to the Professional Advanced Global Studies Program by Learning Manager Prezatia H. Vicario.
Day 1 featured a session led by Dr. Jovertlee Pudan, who provided a comprehensive briefing on the steps required for an academic institution to obtain ISO 21001:2018 certification (Educational Organizations Management Systems). He discussed principles, best practices, challenges, and strategies for securing accreditation. Participants then engaged in a reflective group exercise, with each GSPDM cluster reviewing their accomplishments and identifying areas for improvement. The day concluded with closing remarks from Manuel C. Santos, Jr., Program Manager of the Sustainable Development and Regional and Local Governance Cluster.
Day 2 began with a presentation from Dr. Milabel Ho who walked participants through the stages an institution must undergo to achieve successful accreditation. This was followed by a talk from Dr. Ramces Dili who outlined DAP-GSPDM’s path toward international recognition as a quality-assured institution in Public Management. The workshop concluded with a synthesis by Maria Felicidad Billedo, Program Manager of Health Governance and Social Protection Cluster, who emphasized the workshop’s vital role in enhancing the school’s academic standards and institutional excellence.
Through this initiative, DAP-GSPDM reaffirmed its commitment to quality and continuous improvement as it works to becoming a globally recognized center of excellence in Public Management.
