The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) has officially launched the 15th batch of the Local Government Executives and Managers Class (LGEMC), further strengthening its commitment to developing transformative leaders for local government units (LGUs) nationwide. On September 24, 2024, 23 scholars from 17 LGUs—representing municipalities, cities, and provinces from 11 regions—began their leadership journey at the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City.
The opening ceremony highlighted the scholars’ dedication to public service and set the stage for a dynamic learning experience aimed at enhancing their leadership and governance capabilities. The program commenced with Course 1: Peak Performing and Adaptive Local Government Leader, led by Ma. Victoria V. Alcoseba, Faculty-in-Charge. This four-day intensive course, held from September 25 to 28, features a lineup of resource speakers, including former DILG Secretary Mel Senen S. Sarmiento, and DAP Associate Project Officer Karina Marya Mendoza.
The LGEMC is a flagship initiative of DAP, designed to equip LGU functionaries with the skills and insights to excel in governance, leadership, and strategic management needed to navigate the complexities of public administration. The program, spanning five courses over 2.5 months, adopts a hybrid learning approach and focuses on enhancing personal efficacy, fostering public sector leadership, and promoting innovative governance solutions.
As LGUs face evolving challenges in public service delivery, the LGEMC remains at the forefront of empowering local leaders to drive sustainable development, agility, and innovation in their respective communities.
