DAP President and CEO Atty. Engelbert Caronan, Jr. and Multisys Founder and CEO David Almirol, Jr. signed the Deed of Donation. Mr. Celso Santiagio, Jr., Acting Managing Director of the DAP Institutional Marketing Center, Mr. Allan De Venecia, Special Assistant to the President of DAP for Emerging Technologies, Ms. Jed Eder, Multisys Strategic Partnership Officer, and Ms. Lyka Pelonio, E-government Head of Multisys were witnesses to this event.
The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) signed a Deed of Donation with Multisys Technologies Corporation, a software engineering solutions firm in the Philippines, last December 10, 2020, through an online ceremony.
Multisys donated to DAP one of their principal platforms called the SchoolBox. It is a copyrighted digital academic platform for integrating school admin analytics, enabling online enrollment with e-payment, digitizing academic records, monitoring campus attendance, school SMS blasting, integrating curriculum, taking online tests and modules made for school administrators, teachers, and students – all in one portal.
According to David Almirol, Jr., founder and CEO of the Multisys Technologies Corporation, an online Learning Management System (LMS) is necessary as institutions make important and crucial decisions to adapt and keep their operations afloat during these challenging times. Various sectors around the globe have faced a lot of challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and education is one of the most heavily affected sectors.
“The academe is not an exemption. In fact, it’s one of the main and crucial components in our society that needs to find this resolve and conduct ways to harness technology into the current education system. Which is why Multisys is here to extend our Schoolbox platform or our school management system with superb analytics and integrations to the Development Academy of the Philippines,” Almirol said during his welcome remarks.
The DAP, like other educational institutions in the country coping with the challenges brought about by the pandemic, also had to come up with new strategies on how to continue its operations and fulfill its mandates while implementing and following the required safety protocols.
According to DAP President and CEO Atty. Engelbert Caronan, Jr., one of the biggest challenges that the Academy is currently facing is how to facilitate online learning effectively during this time of the pandemic. It is because of this challenge that the DAP recognized the urgency and the necessity of an online learning platform to be able to continue the delivery of its mandate to provide education, training, consultancy, and research.
“Our goal is to utilize all the tools that are available, whether human or technological, to capacitate individuals and assist government institutions and private sectors alike to perform their roles and mandates. We aim to implement plans, programs, and policies efficiently using this tool so we can continue to serve the public in the best way we can,” Atty. Caronan said.
The COVID-19 Pandemic ushered and accelerated the need for digital transformation and as the DAP continues to serve at the forefront of innovation, it aims to adapt to technological advancements to efficiently perform its roles and mandates in providing training courses and programs, technical assistance, and research that caters to the entirety of the bureaucracy and private sector, and institutional agencies.
With the SchoolBox as the DAP’s new learning management system, it will increase its reach and will allow the Academy to operationalize its strategy of forging strategic partnerships with other knowledge institutions by sharing the platform and allow different sources of content to be channeled into it.
This LMS donated by Multisys will be used as a learning tool for scholars, students, and clients under the Academy’s training and programs. Through this software web-based platform, digital courses and online submission of homework and modules can be done by the students and teachers at their own volition and through different systems.
Towards the end of the ceremonial signing, the DAP President expressed his gratitude for the kindness and generosity of Multisys Technologies Corporation for donating a Learning Management System to the Academy. He also said that the DAP looks forward to more collaboration with Multisys as it continues to work towards empowering leaders, strengthening institutions, and building the nation.
