The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) celebrated its 118th founding anniversary with the theme “PCG Modernization towards a Safe and Secured Maritime Nation” last October 10 at the PCG National Headquarters. The event highlighted the accomplishments of the PCG personnel who exhibited resiliency and dedication throughout their service. It also recognized institutions that formed partnerships with the PCG towards strengthening its maritime capabilities and achieving real modernization.

The PCG recognized the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) for building and sustaining a professional education and strategic partnership with the PCG. The PCG, specifically the CG-12, collaborated with the DAP for crafting a twinning program that would respond academically to the current needs of the PCG leading to the development of the Master in Public Management major in Development and Security with specialization in Maritime Safety and Security (MPM-DevSec-MSS) and the PCG’s Senior Executive Course which will be jointly conducted by both parties.
