The Office the Parliament Speaker of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (OPS-BTA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) visited the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) Pasig office, on April 12, with the objective of benchmarking with the DAP’s programs, planning systems and processes.

In the opening speech delivered by DAP Institutional Marketing Center Director Joanne Nuque, she emphasized that the DAP still pursues development not only in the public sector, but ultimately, into the social fabric – a direction that is responsive to global trends and emerging solutions.  Nuque also expressed DAP’s support for the BARMM: “The DAP is one with you in your pursuit of inclusive development, through various facets that respond to the needs of the community.”

Meanwhile, OPS-BTA Chief Internal Auditor Josefa Macasayon, thanked the DAP officers and staff who made the benchmarking possible and expressed BARMM’s hope to learn from the DAP on how they can better implement their mandate.

The open forum gave the OPS-BTA BARMM officers the opportunity to ask questions on the DAP’s programs, systems and processes. Present in the question and answer session were DAP President and CEO Atty. Engelbert Caronan, DAP-Center for Governance Vice President Imelda Caluen,  Center for Governance-Policy Research Office Director Gilbert  Lumantao,  Information and Communications Technology Division Division Chief Jomar Pastrana, General Services Division Director Engr. Nelson Casalan and Center for CES Development Vice President Nanette Caparros.

The visit ended with a tour of the DAP building offices and facilities.

In 2022, the DAP welcomed some officers from the BARMM Office of the Chief Minister and the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro for an institutional visit.
